We have two playgrounds, one for Pre-Prep and one for Prep. We also have our own large field which is used for playtimes, sports days, picnics and rounders and any excuse to get outside in the fresh air.
Whether on the playground or on the field, our youngest and oldest spend some play time together supervised by staff on a rota. At mid-morning break and after lunch all the girls get to enjoy the space outdoors. We ask that each child has a pair of wellingtons in school so that they can use the field at any opportunity to have that sociable time to run around and explore even when the ground is wet.
Pre-Prep enjoy their own playground with toys that are rotated to keep their interest from rope cups to hoops or just spending quality time together. This is where friendships are made and learning to take their turn and enjoy each other’s company. Rain or shine (light rain of course) the girls spend time outdoors running off some of their joyful energy.
PAL is our play and learn area outdoors for the Pre-Prep curriculum. Teddy Bear’s cottage, water stations, bridges, trikes and all manner of activities provide a fun learning area for the little ones all observed by the Pre-Prep staff.
Prep girls have their own space to socialise on the playground which also serves as the netball and tennis courts. Girls can play netball, run around or just chat amongst themselves or with staff on duty.
The Courtyard is used for outdoor lessons such as art or science experiments, planting and growing vegetables and salads. Here we can hold parent gatherings when the weather allows where refreshments are served by our catering team. We can also put on intimate outdoor plays in this area.
